BluEnergy Revolution ZEN Fuel Cell (Zero Emission Energy) is a standardized, integrated, plug-in system able to produce 45 to 60 kW of net power at zero emission. The ZEN has been designed to comply special applications like rail or marine and to comply with ATEX rules to ease its integration onboard

Plug & Play

The ZEN system has been developed to maximize the simplicity of integration and control and thus minimize the efforts of the end customer. The system interfaces have been minimized:

1. Process air inlet (cathode air inlet), special air filter included;
2. high voltage bus connection, up to 800 Vdc, power converters pre-charge is included;
3. 24Vdc auxiliary voltage supply, control and safety dry contacts;
4. external cooling inlet, no need of external precise temperature or flow control. The control is included inside the ZEN system
5. external cooling outlet
6. hydrogen inlet
7. collected drain water outlet, vapour reducer system, condensate separator and collector included
8. process air outlet (cathode air outlet)
9. earthing
10. box ventilation outlet, ATEX ready system downgraded to a neglegible zone thanks to forced ventilation
11. box ventilation inlet

Control & HMI

In true BER style, the ZEN fuel cell system is provided with its own remote control interface in different modes (basic or extended HMI) or can be integrated into a high-level control system (PEMS mode) with Modbus TCP/IP communication.

Beside the dry contacts for the integrated SIL safety system, the system is controlled in a truly simplified manner via a power setpoint from the end user. Startup, shutdown, internal diagnostics, temperature and net power output controls are all included and automated

Compartmentalization

The ZEN system has been designed to integrates all the required accessories needed to make it a plug-in system in accordance with ATEX principles. The system is divided intro three volumes: one dedicated to power electronic; one dedicate to control; one to the system where there’s presence of hydrogen. This last one is kept under depression through a forced ventilation that makes the ZEN safe and easy to integrate system

Performances & data storage

BluEnergy has developed a proprietary remote data acquisition, storage and visualization system. With the ZEN fuel cell system, this service is offered to our customers in order to monitor system performance over time, perform predictive maintenance activities and maximize service life by refining high-level control strategies, minimizing the cost of ownership

Flexibility

The ZEN is a flexible product that can be adapted to specific requirements thanks to the competences of BER, in order to comply with specific standards or to be ready to acquire dedicated certification.

In fact, the system has been designed to comply with RAIL standard and to be ready for MARINE certification
